It is mandatory to read the rules before editing, posting, or contributing to the ATWMC wiki. Failure to obey the rules may result in you being unable to edit, post or contribute to further articles.

General Rules[edit]

Page create and Page Editing[edit]

All pages must:

  1. Be related to Around the World Minecraft
  2. Follow the Manual_of_Style
  3. Must not include Discord links. The wiki is meant to inform, not to advertise.
    1. The Discord link to the server is allowed on the Main Page
    2. Reference links related to the official ATWMC Discord may be allowed but sparingly.
  4. Must not include advertisement of personal shops or builds.
    1. Shops and builds may be included as an image in respective pages.
  5. Not be Orphaned

Rules of Player Pages[edit]

Not every person who has ever joined Around the World MC should have an Article made. Players who have spent a considerable time in game or, are mentioned on various Wiki Articles or, have contributed to ATWMC Lore (both good and bad) should have an Article. All player pages must:

  1. Be about an ATWMC player
  2. Adhere to the general page layout outlined in Sample Player Page
  3. Do not post people's Discord usernames, even if it your own. See #Personal Information for more information.

Rules of Region Pages[edit]

All Region pages must:

  1. Be about an ATWMC Region
  2. Adhere to the general page layout outlined in Sample Region Page

Rules of Country Pages[edit]

All Country pages must:

  1. Be about an ATWMC Country
  2. Must have existed on ATWMC
  3. Adhere to the general page layout outlined in Sample Country Page

Rules of City Pages[edit]

All City pages must:

  1. Be about an ATWMC City
    1. All Cities with a warp should have a page
      1. This doesn't apply to warps with no City.
    2. Cities, towns or settlements that don't have a warp but have a population but of considerable note or, are mentioned on various Wiki Articles or, have apart of ATWMC Lore (both good and bad) should have an Article.
  2. Must have existed on ATWMC
  3. Adhere to the general page layout outlined in Sample City Page

General page editing rules[edit]

  1. If a staff member rolls an edit back, please do not re-add the edit. If you feel that the staff member should not have rolled back an edit, discuss it in the page's discussion page, or on the discord server. If a request is denied, do not re-add your edit.
  2. Vandalism is not allowed.
  3. Be as objective as possible. (See #Bias)
  4. Wiki Staff are allowed to remove any article they deem inappropriate for the ATWMC Wiki without consulting the community.
    1. If you disagree with a removal, you are welcome to discuss it on the respective staff member's talk page, or on the discord server.
  5. 'Shitposting' of ANY sort is not allowed.
  6. Editing maliciously or in 'bad faith' is not permitted.

Image uploading rules[edit]

  1. Do not upload images that pertain to events, individuals, ideas, etc outside of the wiki's scope.
  2. When uploading an image, affix a title that properly discloses the contents of the image.
    1. This is EXTREMELY important as the images you upload may be used in other articles, it is imperative this is adhered to so that the Image Library is navigable.
  3. When uploading an image, provide as much information about the image itself as you possible can, most importantly:
    1. What the image is of (should be similar to the title).
    2. When the image was created/captured.
    3. Who created/captured the image.
  4. DO NOT upload ANY images of a player in real life, their place of residence, place of work, etc. This will be viewed as a dox. See #Personal Information for more information.

Other general rules[edit]

Personal information[edit]

  1. The inclusion of real-life information of any kind on the wiki is not permitted with the following exceptions:
    1. Publicly known Nationality. (See Buddha or Ukihoroa for examples)
    2. Publicly known relationships. (Example: Heid and Hayden4 are friends in real life)
    3. Languages and Language History.
  2. People may add more real-life information to their own pages but ATWMC Wiki Staff may remove anything they feel like is revealing too much personal information.
  3. Any player who wishes to have their page removed may ask in their respective Discussion page or reach out to a Wiki Staff member.
    1. All player article deletion request will be honored as long as it has made by themselves.

General Conduct[edit]

  1. Editing maliciously or in 'bad faith' is not permitted.
  2. Ban bypassing is not permitted.
  3. The use of alts is not permitted.

Article quality[edit]

Sources[edit]

  1. Sources are always preferred, whether primary or secondary, and should be cited throughout the article if available.
  2. Primary sources include:
    1. Discord posts from people who experienced an event firsthand. Screenshots of a Discord message are allowed preferably via an Imgur link.
    2. A screenshot that is able to be verified as being on ATWMC, or a dialogue on an external application whose validity is verifiable.
    3. A video that is able to be verified as being on ATWMC

Bias[edit]

  1. Exaggeration is strictly forbidden.
  2. Use multiple sources whenever possible, especially for topics that are likely to generate conflict.
  3. Pages with exaggeration will be removed.

Language and Grammar[edit]

  1. As ATWMC is a language learning community, the primary language of this wiki is English but translations of Articles are allowed and encouraged.
    1. Translated pages should match or similar to its English counterpart if able.
  2. Pages are expected to be written using proper grammar.
  3. The first time you mention any noun (i.e player, base, event, group, etc.) in an article, you are expected to link to that respective article (using two square brackets [[ ]] on each side of the term.

Other rules concerning article quality[edit]

  1. Add categories to pages. This can be done in source editing by typing [[Category:Example]], or by clicking the category stripe at the bottom of the page twice in normal editing.
