Rhine Crisis

From Around The World MC

The Rhine Crisis was an event along the Rhine River on November 16th 2020 where sections of the river were covered in dirt. The important international river was a part of Switzerland, Alsace, France, Frankfurt, and the Netherlands, and important to international travel. The blockage was met with backlash from the international community, most notably France and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This was a flashpoint in german history, as it showed the need for a stronger political entity in the region, and an international organization was set up to monitor the river. This event was a factor in the formation of the German Empire.
