Ambiguous wording[edit]

"Other somewhat common countries of origin include the UK at 9.7%, the Netherlands at 6.5%, and Poland, Germany, and Turkey at 3.2%."
Are Poland, Germany, and Turkey all at 3.2% each or 3.2% combined?

Changed to "Other somewhat common countries of origin include the UK at 9.7%, the Netherlands at 6.5%, and Poland, Germany, and Turkey individually at 3.2% each." Asianhaydenxd (talk) 01:32, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

External links[edit]

I think links to the subreddit, discord, donation page, and dynmap should be placed in an "External links" section like actual wiki pages do it.

I personally feel that the discord link would be very important to be seen. However, I can understand the other links, and thus I will move everything to external links. However, I will keep the discord link at the top. Asianhaydenxd (talk) 01:37, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Why not put the discord link both at the top and in the external links section?
Wait you did that already

ATWMC Bureaucrat Election[edit]

As this wiki is becoming active it is fitting for this wiki to have an active Bureaucrat/Administrator. This section is to go over what a Bureaucrat is, why we need an election and the election process itself.

A Bureaucrat has the ability to promote and demote administrators and can access ManageWiki. So what is the different between an Bureaucrat and an administrator? An Administrator is someone who can block users, protect or delete pages, among many other administrative duties. So why do we need a Bureaucrat? Well a couple of reasons, a Bureaucrat is more like a Steward of a Wiki, they can open/close/private a wiki. Make changes to the name and summery but most importantly they are the only ones who can reopen a wiki if has been locked for inactivity without the need to go to Miraheze directly. Therefore if we as a community only held an election for only new administrators we would have to go to Miraheze as ask them to promote and demote then when needed whereas a Bureaucrat can do that on their own. While we technically have a Bureaucrat, they are not only inactive on this Wiki but they are largely inactive within the community as well and it is for the best as a community to have at least one or more Bureaucrats who are not only active within the community but will be active on the Wiki as well.

Why do we need an election? We need to have an election because outside of being the person who starts a (New) Wiki the only way for someone to become a Bureaucrat is through a "Local Election". Now there is a few reasons for this, this allows the community to choose who is "in charge" of the Wiki and this prevents one person saying they are someone who is locked out of an account getting access to the ManageWiki page and deleting said Wiki. At the same time this prevents, like in our case, someone who reopens a wiki getting User Rights to do basic administrative tasks like deleting accidental pages.

The Election Process, Miraheze has a few rules like the election taking place in a public space like this talk page and an election should take a minimum of 4 days. To not make this any longer than it has to this Election will end Sunday March 5, 2023 at 11:59:59 that give us a little over 4 days to have this election. Any person who wishes to become a Bureaucrat will create a new topic titled "(Name) for Bureaucrat" and detail why they would make a good choice to be a Bureaucrat and add Support and Oppose subheadings. To vote for or against you will write #{{Support}} or #{{Oppose}} under the respective section then any comments you may have for your position then sign it with --~~~~ the Wiki will do some magic with it. To be elected a Nominee needs to have a simple majority with a minimum of 2 different people supporting them. This election is officially open after this post is created which is 02:26 March 1, 2023. An example section will be made to see how the election will look like.

Buddha for Bureaucrat[edit]

I believe I would the best person in present moment to be a Bureaucrat for the Wiki. A few reasons for this, starting with getting the Wiki Reopened and saving it from deletion. I have also been doing cleanup on the wiki and created our lovely infoboxes. I also have a decent understand of Wikipedia and MediaWiki as I had been an active contributor of both. Miraheze is a little different but more/less the same. I have also been the one making sure pages are formatted correctly and how it should be. I have been there to help anyone for any need and I plan to continue to do so! I am weirdly addicted to nerdy stuff like this and while at time a headache I have love to help with this Wiki for our community. I hope that being a Bureaucrat and by extension an Administrator I can further help with tasks like page deletions, banning potential vandalizers and protecting certain pages from being edited without reason like our templates. I am open to any further questions you may have more me and I hope I can help further grow and strengthen this wiki. --Buddha (talk) 03:02, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
